Three Ringed Circus with John Morrison

 

John works with 3 bands learning selected material together. The students take it in turns to play and to observe. During these sessions John will select students for a Blast SuperBand to play the chart on Sunday. 

 

Hear it! Sing it! Play it! with Jacki Cooper

 

Leave your instruments at the door and come ready to sing. This vocal workshop is designed to get instrumentalists to use their voice to practice their charts. They will learn to sing a big band chart  using appropriate jazz language and phrasing. 

 

Freestyling with Hannah James

 

Improvisation workshop. Discover tips and tricks for improvising from beginner level to advanced. 

 

Performance Workshop with Andrew Robertson

 

3 bands will perform for each other a 20 minute set of their choice of repertoire followed by feedback from Andrew Robertson. If a band is not complete, musicians will be invited from the other bands to fill the chairs. 

 

Sight-Reading Smash Out with Eric Dunan

 

Eric will run the big band jam with a great selection of charts to challenge everyone’s sight-reading skills.
