Individuals are welcome to register for Big Band Blast. Access All Areas pass includes all workshops and concert events for $90.
BLAST OFF BATHURST - FRIDAY 26th MAY - 6.30pm-9pm
Blast Off is the Welcome to Blast 2024 concert featuring the Connections Big Band from Mitchell Conservatorium followed by the Australian Army Band Sydney and BBB artists - John Morrison, Jacki Cooper, Andrew Robertson, and Eric Dunan. Latecomers welcome.
Tickets are $25 adult/$15 concession for those who are not registered for the conference.
BIG BAND BLAST GALA CONCERT
BATHURST MEMORIAL ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE
SATURDAY 25th MAY - 8pm-9.30pm
The Big Band Blast Gala Concert features the Sydney Conservatorium Jazz Orchestra directed by David Theak, with performances by our guest artists Andrew Robertson (sax), Eric Dunan (trumpet), Jacki Cooper (vocals) and the Blast artistic director, John Morrison (drums).
Tickets for those who are not registered for the conference are available from BMEC.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SESSION - SUNDAY 26th MAY
FOR TEACHERS/BAND DIRECTORS - 8.30am-9.30am
John Morrison presents an informative session on directing a big band covering topics such as rehearsal set up and techniques, performance set up, blend, tone, and time.
Tickets are $50 for those not registered for the conference.
